Collaborative. Inclusive. Expansive.
At Affirming Psychology, we are committed to creating a safe space for people of all races, ethnicities, disabilities, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and relationship structures. Using an empathetic approach, our therapists invite clients to become more open to their expanding experience, become more attuned to their own needs while balancing the needs of others, and process underlying trauma.
We commonly treat issues around mood, attachment issues, disordered eating, neurodivergence, and trauma. Our current group therapy offering is an 8-week mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) group therapy for individuals with low sexual desire/arousal.
Using a neuro-affirming approach, we help clients gain more understanding about themselves, what strengths they have as an Autistic individual, more of a pull to feel connected to the broader Autistic community, what challenges they have navigating this world as an Autistic person, and what resources/supports are available.
Gain more clarity around which psychiatric disorders you meet criteria for and what treatment options are available to you. If you have ever felt you were incorrectly diagnosed or you have strong suspicions you may meet criteria for a psychiatric disorder, we encourage clients to access this service either as a stand-alone assessment or as part of your therapeutic journey.
Within Relationship Therapy, we invite clients to unpack attachment ruptures, learn new ways to attune and communicate, and transform your relationship. During Sex Therapy, we work with individuals and partners to help address factors that are impacting their sexual functioning and satisfaction.
Psst— Our team is currently expanding. Please see the “Join our Team” tab for more details.
